It is imperative that training is not only provided as an initial once off to prepare the franchisee to open a store, but is continuous and lasts for the duration of the franchise agreement. Training comprises two components; namely theory and practical.
Theory covers all aspects required to ensure the successful running of a laundry and includes topics as diverse as the Consumer Protection Act and Labour Relations Act to the financial management of the business and would also cover the franchisor – franchisee relationship.
Practical training covers all aspects related to the operational side of the business and would include the laundry equipment used as well as the different laundry processes - from the weighing of garments on their delivery to their folding, packaging and presentation on collection.
